[Acquisitions] Captain America: The First Avenger Heroic Age Captain America and Captain Britain
These two figures may very well be my last 1:18 Marvel acquisitions until I complete my line-up of Autobots from the three Transformers movies. I was originally planning to track down the figures of several members of the Avengers from the old Marvel Universe releases but a change of plan was necessary as I got hooked on the Transformers movie toys. So, let's make this one quick because I still have some toy cars to convert (err, i mean transform) into bad-ass robot figures.

[Acquisitions] Thor: The Mighty Avenger 1:18 Warriors Three Figures
When the Thor movie figures came out last March, I actually had no plans of getting any fig from the line except for a couple of Thor figs. I'm a big Avengers fan but none of the other characters who were given the action figure treatment are (or were) members of the Avengers, making it quite easy for me to pass up on the other figures. But then I realized that the characters from the movie are all part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe along with Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, and the likes, meaning they exist in one reality/continuity and that I can make a Marvel Cinematic Universe display comprised of figures from the toylines of various Marvel movies. Geek-gasm!

[Acquisitions] Iron Man 2: 1:12 Mark V
Jeez, I'm still on a slump. My sincerest apologies.
Okay, let's just talk about toys. I was able to get this 1:12 Iron Man Mark V armor a few weeks back, and I think I made a good decision buying this one loose for only 500 bucks. This figure was released more than a year ago, but I wasn't able to get one immediately as every figure I spotted back then had extremely bad paint bleeds (the red paint bled on to the silver parts and totally messed up the figure's looks). I actually saw a bunch of carded Mark Vs in Greenhills before I bought this figure, but I will never be caught spending a thousand bucks for a mint-on-card figure with terrible paint apps. The one I got also has the said paint problems, and it didn't come with the extra sets of hands and the "transport" case, but I firmly believe that I made a wise purchase as the value of those extra items will never add up to another 500 bucks. You can call me a cheapo, but I'm just glad to acquire another Iron Man armor to bolster my 1:12 armory.

[Acquisitions] KitKat Break Pack
Fine, this is not a toy. But you ought to know that this site is not all about toys, in fact, the blog description says, "Toys, Toys, Toys... and Other Things." So, let's not argue whether I should or should not talk about this here on the site. Just trust me on this one, alright?

[Acquisitions] Captain America: The First Avenger Heavy Artillery Captain America
Hhhmmm... I've been in some sort of a slump lately, and I don't really know how to get my engine running again. All burnt out from work, I spend my free time lying on the bed thinking of ways to break out of this funk, but to no avail. I've bought quite a number of toys the past two weeks and I hope that talking and writing about those toys will turn out to be the shot in the arm I desperately need to get back on track.

[Acquisitions] Captain America: The First Avenger U.S. Agent
When I bought a few sets of the Marvel Universe Greatest Battles Comic Packs several months back, I was so disappointed with the products that the thought of selling the figs on eBay actually crossed my mind. The super-soft plastic used in making the figures definitely ruined the experience for me to the extent that I almost vowed never to buy another 1:18 Marvel figure again. I mean, I've been a G.I. Joe collector for quite some time and never have I encountered a single Joe figure as flimsy as the figures from those dreaded MU comic packs are. Though I would later buy two more 1:18 Marvel figures in the form of Super Combat Captain America and Hammer Smash Thor (collection essentials), I remained skeptical about Hasbro's 1:18 Marvel offerings until I got this U.S. Agent figure.

[Acquisitions] Marvel Universe Luke Cage
As kids, my brother and I used to get our supply of Marvel and DC comics straight from our uncles and aunts in the U.S. Being huge fans of the X-Men animated series back then, we used to make requests for several X-Men titles, and everytime a big box of goodies arrived, a mad scramble surely ensued. It's funny that I never really owned a lot of X-Men books, as my brother and my cousins made sure that I only get to own the titles they didn't want for themselves, and those titles were usually Avengers-related stuff. And that's how I came to be a huge Avengers fan.

[Acquisitions] Marvel Heroes Self-Vending Buildable Figures
So, what do we have here? Well, these are self-vending, buildable Marvel Heroes figurines from A&A Global Industries! The figures are two inches tall, and they are so swell! These figures are so darn cute, I just want to have a shelf full of them!

[Acquisitions] G.I. Joe: Pursuit of Cobra Cycle Armor with Ashiko
I have a confession to make. To be completely honest, I'm slowly losing my interest in G.I. Joe products. Why? Because it takes a lot of effort on my side to be able to get the latest figures and vehicles that I want. I either have to travel all the way to Greenhills or have the items shipped here in Bataan just to get my POC fix. A good sum of my toy money actually gets wasted on transportation and/or shipping, and it's beginning to irritate me. Curse you, Playkit!
